Branch gears up to fight the Tory Trade Union Bill

UNISON South Ayrshire is gearing up to fight the Tory government’s Trade Union Bill, described by UNISON General Secretary Dave Prentis as ‘the most draconian legislation in the western world’.

Dave Watson, head of bargaining and campaigns at UNISON Scotland, said:“The Trade Union Bill weakens our voice at work, and weakens our campaigning voice. It undermines the right to strike, union organisation and aims to make it harder for unions to win a fairer deal at work.

At the recent Manchester march 100 000 people showed their opposition to the bill.

There will be a Mass lobby of Parliament on the second of November in London with an
event planned for Glasgow at the end of November which many UNISON members from Scotland will be attending.
